5May2012 update: Scott Beason’s Senate bill 541 makes all of the necessary “tweaks” needed to clarify and strengthen our current illegal immigration law. However, the Senate is using the "watered down" House bill that has many loopholes and exemptions as the vehicle for debate. They are in the process of substituting Beason’s bill’s wording into the House bill and removing the House bill’s loopholes. BUT…If they are not successful in that we want the Senate to KILL THE BILL!! Our legislators can make any changes necessary to the current law in the NEXT session AFTER the Supreme Court has ruled on it. s
ACTION NEEDED: Call the Senators-ask them to support substituting Beason’s SB541 wording ONLY or Kill the HB 658 (a bill diluting our immigration law, HB56, from 2011 session due pressure I can only suspect from the leadership.)
